As a way of sharing our good fortune with others in need, we will be collecting candy from Halloween to donate to children in developing countries. When a child has been starving he/she often may lose the desire to eat even when food is presented. The sweet flavour of a candy can entice these starving children to eat again. Canadian Food for Children sends these candies over to children in many countries. The candies need to be hard (like suckers) and individually wrapped. (Chocolate and gum will melt on the trip overseas.) Students are asked to consider donating some items from their Halloween treats. Donations will be accepted at school until Nov. 10th. There will be a white pail in each of the classrooms for collection. Thank you for lending a helping hand, Lions.
